Indeed. It's definitely disappointing that it turned out this way, since as you pointed out it was seemingly the perfect thing for me. If it had been any other animal/shape, I might have just ignored it and put it back in the garbage, which would have doomed it to the garbage dump with no chance of recovery. I suspect your hopes will go unanswered, since hostility was generally the tone.
